oodThe Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Tech Corridor is one of the leading bio-processing and food ingredient centers in North America.

A number of companies including Cargill, Inc., Genencor International, a Danisco Division, Penford Products Company, ADM - Corn Processing and Diamond V Mills Inc. all serve the world from our area.

Recently, French-based Lassaffre Group built a new yeast production facility in Cedar Rapids under the name Red Star Yeast.  In addition, German-based J. Rettenmaier & Söhne GmbH constructed a dietary fiber plant called J. Rettenmaier USA and are currently building a facility for JRS Pharma LP to produce microcrystalline cellulose to supply the pharmaceutical industry.
